You aren't the only one, but of the generation that grew up with an NES you're probably in the minority. The classics are classics for a reason, in any medium. People still play Mario and Metroid, not Pesterminator. Personally, I will play Tecmo Super Bowl till the day I die.

Iron Maiden is such a compelling band. They have an enormously diverse fanbase, and have remained popular for over 30 years with basically no media coverage and minimal radio play. They tour continuously and sell out every single show. I've never seen a better live band though admittedly I've only seen a few dozen.

This isn't true, especially given how easy most LCD TV repairs are. I've fixed a couple for friends (and my own) just by replacing the video board capacitors. Cost a total of $8.00. Obviously it's not always that easy, but most of the time it really is.
