I’ve had 2 Mierna IUD insertions and 2 removals. The first was at a PP where I worked at the time. They told me to take 800 mg of Ibuprofen 30 minutes before. I was at work, did as instructed, they called me down and then I got my IUD and went right back to work. I’d classify it as a 6/10 on the discomfort scale, but

Two documentaries currently streaming that feature the juxtaposition of CPCs set up right across the street from actual abortion providers: Jackson (as in Mississippi) and 12th and Delaware (Florida). Highly recommend both.

I can see that as well -- perhaps a blend of all 3! In any case, I really like his character on the show.

He looks like a perfect blend of Paul Walker and Chris Hemsworth.

I saw the film “She Said” last week — about the NYT journalists who ended up plummeting down a rabbit hole of abuse and cover up allegations when they went to investigate a couple of tips about Weinstein as a sexual predator. Weinstein should get every punishment coming his way, but I also want to see his enablers

Came here to say the same thing. We WANT to see an increase in reports, because, according to RAINN (Rape, Abuse, and Incest National Network), 69% of assaults go unreported as-is. I assume even more went unreported in the military because your abuser may also be in your reporting chain of command.

*Puts on bifocals*...I wish short guys had the “short king” confidence baaaack in myyyyy dayyy. As a 6'1" woman who was attracted to men of all heights in my dating days, the short guys were vicious and arrogant — clear symptoms of insecurity.

Right? Also, people don’t always “plan” a relationship to end (though I’m sure there’s a lot of PR work that goes into it for celebrities). Her kids were probably looking forward to the Styles concert, and maybe they put on their smiles and tried to work things out so the kids could have a good time. We don’t know

We heard the same thing but my husband got in right away. Hope you have the same luck!

One of the common listed side effects of Copper IUD is heavier periods. The hormonal IUD will fix that issue for most people. I’m the poster child for Mirena IUD — from the day I got my first one, never had a period. No cramps, steady mood. The only way I knew where I was in my “cycle” was that my boobs would get sore

Have you talked to your ob/gyn about your cramps and relevance to IUD? Cramps are caused by the uterus and cervix contracting to expel the uterine lining. With a hormonal IUD (Mirena, Skyla, etc.) you get a super low does of progesterone, which eventually eliminates periods completely for many users.

Have you looked into the sponge? Brand name Today Sponge. Also people definitely still use diaphragms; sounds like you need a new gyno.

Same. This debt cancellation means the difference between being financially forced to stay at a job I no longer enjoy, in a city that makes me miserable and where my husband can’t find steady work, or having the financial freedom to look for new jobs (that don’t have to be non-profits) in places we would actually want

Thanks for the explanation! I’m not a lawyer nor do I play one on TV 🤷🏽

How do we know her identity if she’s a Jane Doe? And what are the journalistic ethics of printing it here?

As someone with a family member with schizophrenia, this hits so close to (literal)  home. The agony of loving someone deeply while also being afraid for your own safety and afraid of/for their safety and well-being is a cluster F***. Most people I know who have lost someone like this balance the guilt of feeling relie

Our clinic hosted a community screening this week. Very powerful movie and the abortion scenes are the most accurate I’ve ever seen presented on film that isn’t a documentary. It also has a TON of stars in it, which surprised me.

It is. Came out in select theaters last night.

GAHHHHH!!!!!

Up until a certain point, yes. But we can still be pro-choice and acknowledge that after 9 weeks LMP it resembles a small fetus, and that abortion is still important and should remain legal and accessible.
