We use tons of these at my office and I maintain them. Another advantage of the MiFi is typically the WiFi strength is higher so you can move the device closer to a window to get a better signal and still connect to the WiFi part just fine. Very handy in metal office buildings in areas that have crappy coverage.

I swear by this thing. Buy a butter crock and you will wonder why you never used one! I always have soft spreadable butter on the table.

You can do this with Google Map Engine Lite. When you are in Maps (and logged into Google) you will see under the search box in the top left "My Maps" and hovering over that will give you the option to create a new map overlay.

Uhg! The only cloud service for Ubuntu that could sync a specific directory between machines. Don't get me wrong, Dropbox on Ubuntu is rock solid, but I also want the option to sync specific directories on specific machines and this service did that.
