TBH, the “money” for this is crowdsourced. He personally has money (lives in Malibu) from numerous businesses he’s run in the past, but that’s not funding this development. I’ve had 5 of their bikes, and currently have 3 (two fat tire and a folding bike). Yes, the batteries come out, and because they’ve sold over 10,000 bikes there’s been a growing aftermarket industry for affordable parts/accessories. They are great bikes and a ton of fun, and they have totally disrupted the industry
