I don’t like the thought of having to remove the engine or transmission to change that belt though. It really should be gear driven.
The cars will be so smart that if any of the sensor is malfunctioning, it’ll refuse to drive. So there won’t be 3rd or 4th owner; it will simply cost too much to maintain beyond warranty.
I hate to point out the fact that the average age of road going vehicles by the mathematical nature of averages... will always go up... regardless of how good sales are or vehicle adoption is... that is unless all of a sudden you want to “ban” cars after a certain age.
Autonomy as a luxury is the biggest road block, in my opinion.
What they’re guilty of, is not going above and beyond what a normal and logical human would do.
“Clearly people need to change their driving habits to match the weather.”
The blame is squarely on these drivers. What if it wasn’t a Comcast truck? What if it is a child who decided to run into the road? What about a police car or fire truck trying to save someone’s life, before before backups arrive? Are they to be blamed too?

They actually are. I’m a surveyor in civil services and there’s an Osha requirement for blind turns and corners. these guys are fucked. insurance is going to win a lawsuit vs them an Osha will likely levy fines.
Agreed. This is stupid. It’s basically the same as shaking your beer... causing it to foam. Hipster fodder, for sure.

When I just quickly skimmed this ad and saw $30, I was thinking to myself, “This dumb stupid excuse for a product can’t be $30.”

What’s the story behind Anker? They seem to have come out of nowhere with some great products. Would be interesting to see Gizmodo do an in-depth about the company.
