Because a lot of voters are idiots who don’t realize that defense attorneys have important jobs. Or worse, they think people accused of certain crimes don’t deserve a defense.
She may have been initially asked by the prosecutor, but the prosecutor has said since that she was very clear that she didn’t want to take the case but she couldn’t get out of it since the judge wanted her on it.

I don't really get it either. Frankly these people who claim to get it, but refuse to tell you the point - I don't think they get it either.
If you click on the vimeo link you can see that the films were commissioned by an Australian travel agency, the dude in question is a paid actor, and his "friends" who shot and edited it are also professionals.
