You are wrong and don’t know anything about football if you think he wasn’t a “very good football player”.

Are you seriously suggesting that O’Brien would rather the team flame out and get a higher draft pick but lose his job, than keep his job by squeaking into the playoffs? Because that’s dumb af.
They already traded their first and second round picks to the Browns.
Their first and second round picks go to Cleveland (moving up for Watson and offloading Losswieler)
Yep, because the QB position was the problem with those post-Harbaugh 9ers squads. Had nothing to do with every single good player on that team retiring and the other half giving up on ownership. Kaep was the best part, by far, of a complete trash heap of a team.
I think you miss the point of the coverage, sir, just as many people miss the point of why Kaep took his stance in the first place. The point of the coverage is to show the hypocrisy of the NFL, and of much of America. Kaep took a stand for something, but people keep pretending the reason he isn’t employed is because…
Agreed. Might even say all the people posting comments like that one, saying “Ok but there are other problems, can we stop covering this?” are telling a little more than they’re saying.
Kaepernic did exactly what we call on folks to do. He took a public and unpopular stance in response to injustice and literally has put his money where his mouth is. His treatment by the NFL is one of the clearest public symbols of American hypocrisy in years. I would argue that he has not gotten enough ink.
My team doesn’t even have a starting QB. Bridgewater’s knee is in 5 pieces and Bradford is made of glass and duct tape at this point. Fuck yes I’d love to have Kaep. Unfortunately, the Vikings have owners who are already clutching their pearls to the point of suffocation just over the mention of political conversation…
I’d be happy with him as our starter, much less our back-up. He’s a clear upgrade over Hoyer.
Bandwagoning? SIR, my team’s administrative ineptitude rivals the Brown’s general ineptitude. I can’t admit that in public, though, as it would make me look like a fool for also buying season tickets to witness said ineptitude in person.
So you want him as second QB, b only if he takes 3rd QB money?
“I’m also happy with our current QB corps as of right this second.” No one should trust this man!
Bwahahahahaha...A Houston fan is happy with the current crop of QB’s. Maybe you’re mixed up on the date today, because Warren Moon retired a long time ago...never mind that it was a different team.
Saints fan. Currently we’re looking at (likely) Chase Daniel or (maybe) Garrett Grayson coming in were something to happen to Brees.
Aside from New England, i can’t think of any many teams that wouldn’t be upgrading at least the backup position by adding Kap. And Kap could/should probably start for a few teams out there.
Yes, it’s very, very tough for white, conservative Christians to get an NFL contract.
I would have gone with the 47% career completion percentage explanation myself, but millions of dumb people out there are in fact convinced he was perfectly qualified to be a starting NFL quarterback and was martyred out of the league for publicly loving Jesus. To each his own, I guess.
