I would totally credit that Jack Black "Happy Birthday" prog rock number with being from an early Genesis album. If it had about 200% more synth-organ.

I mentioned the Muppets more as a nod to The Onion's signature "I appreciate the Muppets on a much deeper level than you" T-shirt than as commentary on the quality or content of that show.
I think you're on to something with your analysis of Adventure Time plots as metaphors for Finn's progress through adolescence, Mr. Sava, but I also believe your reviews insert way too much conjecture. Half the time I can't tell if you're being serious or covertly poking fun at people who over-analyze children's media…
I think that in a contemporary 3D game we should be able to find a happy medium between Crysis graphics and a visual style that contains more jaggies than— say— a game that was released 15 years ago.
Oh hell naw. No-one told me Joe Hisaishi composed the soundtrack to Ni no Kuni! Here I was wondering whether to buy the game or not. No more.
Perhaps time flows more quickly in the Crystal Dimension (wherein a Rainicorn-Dog war lasting thousands of years is supposed to have taken place). Or maybe the pre-apocalypse world existed in parallel with the Crystal Dimension during these events.
Kotaku loses credibility by questioning a highly suspicious claim by a questionable game developer? What reality are you living in?
Jackson does have "editors": Fran Walsh and Philippa Boyens. If you watch the documentary coverage of the making of the LotR film trilogy, it's clear that they had a great amount of influence on the way the films were cut. Maybe they had less of a say in the new trilogy, but they're still credited as having co-written…

Steppenwolf's "Magic Carpet Ride." If I tried listening to it now, I might as well be driving a nail into my head. It doesn't help that the song has been made ubiquitous by various films and TV ads.

I appreciate this article if only for the fact that it might sow the idea of a Fleet Foxes film soundtrack in peoples' minds.

The picture was featured in a Kotaku article earlier this year and was created by an artist called Saejin Oh: http://kotaku.com/5963127/the-rise-of-the-glorious-master-race-of-pc-gamers?post=54573225
You're focusing on the one or two characteristics of the protagonist that make him part of a trope. The show as a whole actually asks some interesting questions and subverts a lot of clichés of anime— then, as Eisenbeis points out, drops the ball in the 2nd half. It deserved the praise it was getting, in my opinion.
Thanks for turning me on to this Youtube channel, HLtbaW. I enjoyed this guy's points about the appeal of Adventure Time and several of his other videos' themes overlap with my interests (and will, I think, with the average AV Club commentator).

Where in the hell-planes is the Archmage when we need him?
