I hate it when comics heckle the room when their jokes don’t get a laugh. Ninety percent of the time it’s because the joke doesn’t work. Five percent of the time it’s because they haven’t even said the punchline yet so the audience has no reason to react one way or another.

“Oh, I get it. This is too edgy for you?”

Women directors seems to be a good starting point for changing on set culture. When I studied business management one of my lecturers said no one can change a workplace culture from the bottom up. Has to be top down to be effective.

Same. I know a few folk who work at their HQ and a satellite office. The pay IS high, relatively speaking, at traditional lower levels. And the vast majority of even those jobs are filled by whites and white-aligned as you mentioned. And almost all the first line supervisors and managers are also white. They are, like

Well — and, in addition, you notice they’ve ghettoized her in HR as opposed to putting here anywhere near an income-producing or even asset-protecting center, like engineering or IP & business affairs.

Apple’s non-white workforce grew by a percentage point expanded by a tiny margin that could have been fudged by rounding up.

now maybe roman polanski will chime in...

“And they wouldn’t, because you are not interested in it. You are interested in making your movie.”

I’m so relieved the perv that slept with his wife’s adopted daughter is here to help us all morally navigate the Weinstein scandal.

Diversity “includes” women, people of color, . . .

My comments were not representative of how I think about diversity

“Diversity of thought” IS HUGE double speak for “how the hell can we claim diversity without filling this joint with unwanted Black people”. It’s maddening and ridiculous but this is what happens when white folks want cred but don’t want to put in any work.

They’re diverse because in that group of 12 white boys, they attended all 8 Ivy League schools!!

This is what passes me off about everyone. Predators pick their victims based on their lack of believability. Children, the poor, women of color, women with mental health and substance abuse issues, the disabled. It’s gross that it takes the NYTimes, the New Yorker, a wealthy white man (Ronan Farrow), and dozens of

The “crazy” ones ALWAYS know.

Sadly, I think you’re right. And I say “sadly” not because I’ll be sad when it happens, but because of his reason. The only thing I really believe Bob Weinstein about is that his brother doesn’t feel remorse about what he’s done, only about how it has affected HIM.

Did you see that video TMZ dug up from 2005 of Courtney Love calling Weinstein out at an event. But since she’s crazy no body took her seriously.

Hopefully so. I’m surprised at how utterly unwilling the industry is to support Weinstein’s “second chance after treatment” story he’s trying to build. Usually they’d be 100% behind that sort of shit but these are unusual times.

I don’t see what you guys see in Gal Gadot, honestly.
