Jimmy Savile is undoubtedly a predator, but you’re painting with a broad brush. There’s plenty of “wacky” and “weird” people who aren’t evil sickos. The way you’re going on makes it seem like anyone who doesn’t conform rigidly to mainstream norms or is a horror fan is bad, which is a dangerous viewpoint as the other

Excuse me, I come to this site for escapism mixed with fundamentally despair-fueled snark, not heartwarming tributes and emotional reality. Please note my complaint.

wow much to think about thanks tipper gore

I’m with you on all of what you wrote in the first paragraph, but the second is the kind of insidious rhetoric that can and will do more harm to marginalized people than to bonafide predators in power; art does not, and should not, have to be sanitized for it to be worthwhile or acceptable as a form of expression. The

It may have been edited since, but it says “provably false” now.

I thought I’d be sad when I got to the age of not knowing about current pop culture trends, but now that it’s happened I’m pretty cool with it.

Exactly. There is zero to be gained from dissing the production. The film WAS very well received in the end. If he says “They totally changed my vision and I am upset” most of the response would likely be “Well I loved the film, so it sounds like a good thing they did not listen to you.” And to be fair, it does not

It’s a simply good sense to not bite the hand that feeds. Of course he’s going to take this position, especially about a film that turned out well and was well received at the end of the day.

Man acts with professionalism, just to be a bit different

I agree that it’s mutilation, but we should be clear that FGM is way, way, way worse. We’re cutting off foreskins, here, not the equivalent of the entire glans.

He briefly mentions “the Deep State.”

Finally AV Club’s using their power of writing about a video but not posting it for good.

Kurt’s cover of “Where Did You Sleep Last Night” still gives me chills. The story goes that after the band walked off-stage, MTV producers wanted an encore and Kurt asked in disbelief (I’m paraphrasing), “You think I can top that?” Such a haunting performance that — nearly 30 years later — still feels like an outlet

Oh god, grow up.

Though, to be fair, IF she knew this stuff and has been “keep[ing] it locked in [her] safe for a rainy day” then fuck her for being part of the problem. If you know someone is a sexual predator and keep it quiet just in case you need it later, then fuck you. Fuck you sideways.

The guy whose formative sexual experiences involved (from his own autobiography) his dad procuring drugs and hookers for him, grows up a rapist?

Who would have thought that a malignant narcissist could also be an abuser?

This episode was perfectly average. The reason people single it out is just silly.

No “boo-urns” is from “A Star is Burns” in Season 6 when Springfield decides to host a film festival. “Homer vs. Dignity” is where Mr. Burns pays Homer to basically play pranks and embarrass himself. Hence the panda costume.

To say S11 is the end of the golden era is waaaay too late. Personally, I place it exactly at the second half of the Tamzarian episode.
