realistically the answer should always be no. I honestly don’t recall the last console that was worth buying at launch.

I feel like actually taking the time to optimize and compress the file size would go a long way in this case. I doubt that publishers are going to let that fly though.

It’s disappointing to see so many games not take optimization seriously. There is no reason for the majority of assets to be uncompressed.

Even if they were to undercut themselves, I doubt that would save them. It’s there corporate culture that is their ultimate downfall.

As a former gamestop manager from years ago, the writing on the wall has always been there. I don’t know why people think this is new outside of gamestop’s own employees. They always prioritized corporate greed vs everything else. It’s just now that they are seeing the effects of that.
