From the Swiss national television archive, the 1973 Targa Florio
...and the Tour de France Automobile, which combined circuit racing, open stage rallying and hill climb segments
Well, the Mille Miglia, Targa Florio, Carrera Panamericana, and the Liege-Rome-Liege Rally/Marathon de la Route (same event and organizers, different venues) have already been named checked.
Bad Brains.
Charles Bradley covering Black Sabbath.....real nice
Dino Ferrari didn't design this engine, or any other Ferrari V6. With the exception of the V6 used in the 156 F1 Sharknose, which was designed by Carlo Chiti, all other Ferrari V6's were based on Vittorio Jano's 1956 design.
That's the 1.5 liter super charged BRM V16 from the early 1950's, which is not to be confused with the 3 liter normally aspirated H16 that BRM produced in 1966-67.
For the Race of Two Worlds in 1957 and 58, they did use the oval configuration; those were the only instances in the post-war era that Monza was ovoid. As for Avus, it's shaped like a Q-tip that's bent at one end.
While Monza and Avus had banked corners, neither circuit was an oval.
Nice work, Raphael.
Horst Kwech FTW!
I defer to $kaycog. What say you, oh high priestess of the GT?
Cosworth BDA FTW.
