Kyle, you're assuming this is the direction that society wants technology to go in. If anything, I would say it's the opposite.

The whole thing boiled down to Beer acting like a whiny child.

Here's the thing - there's a longtime saying that "it takes two to tango."

What's the point? If you see ads on screen, you can AdBlock them manually for good if you don't like them. So what Google essentially bought was few extra seconds of screen time for people who don't want to see ads at all and thus aren't likely to react with any positivity to their content.

There's a couple problems with this, though. In a perfect world, I'd agree. However:

If the old system had gone into place, you would likely have seen game prices drop. Or, at the very least, it could have staved off price increases.

Why does players using disc based games like before, constrain them (MSFT) from letting us resell digital download games like they had preached about? Why does it have to be an all or nothing deal?

This isn't about system loyalty anymore. I'm an Xbox 360 owner. This is pure anti-consumer crap, no matter what systems you've owned, no matter what franchises you follow, no matter what genres you prefer.

I think this problem extends beyond video games these days but you are totally right and I won't stand for it anymore. I love games, I shouldn't have that used against me.
