As a lowly Mac user, I just listen to the damn thing. It makes a characteristic noise if it is failing, so I just back the thing up, close it down, and take it to the Mac Connection.

Chkdsk, when ran with the /f switch, makes corrections to the file system when it finds inconsistencies and is very much a terrible idea to run on a drive that you suspect is failing. It’s a great way to lose data.

The first and simplest way check the health of your drives—be they mechanical hard drives or SSDs—is to run a simple error check in Windows. You’ll want to do more than this to get a full picture of your how your drive is doing, but this is a great first step to see (real quick) if something is wrong with your

Uh, load times have been an important thing since CD consoles first existed (hell, even before that if you ask anyone who has loaded a game from cassette). Not only are they a pain in the ass when you’re in the middle of enjoying a game, but they can also impact how games are designed. You’re absolutely nuts if you

They should just dump him and eat his salary. They’re already well below last year’s salary, so it wouldn’t hurt as much as it normally would.

I have no empathy for those who are just then finding out that they paid to see horseshit.

It is overrated because people have the audacity to mention it in the same conversation as The Sopranos and Breaking Bad as deserving of the title of “best series ever”.

Why the fuck would you risk injuring what might be one of your better pitchers just to try for a no-hitter in a meaningless game?

Leave it to Tom Ley to get behind the shittiest take of any situation. You openly admit their roster is shit, then complain that they didn’t run this kid’s arm into the ground for the FOURTH GAME OF THE SEASON for a meaningless statistic on a team that lost 115 games last season in spite of having players like Machado

That kind of stinks.

Did they change them to something else? It’s been a few years since I’ve gone to a game. There used to be two of them and they were the only place to have the half-price deal.

The Natty Boh bars are also half price until after the first inning.

At what point do we start setting age limits for people re-taking driving tests to make sure they are still in a position to operate a vehicle?

I didn’t realize that you guys actually thought of your little fractions of GMG as separate entities. None of your readers do, probably because of all the crosspost pollution.

Yes and no. A video card will help accelerate the rendering of objects on the screen but the data within the windows themselves is stored in the system RAM. If you’ve got a lot of tabs and windows open at once, more than likely you’re going to be limited by RAM more than GPU performance.

While CCleaner will remove some registry keys and seems to be decent at doing it without breaking the operating system, “cleaning the registry” is terrible advice. There’s absolutely no reason to do it. Leftover registry keys have exactly zero impact on the performance of the computer. Allowing programs to blow

The old unibody Macbooks are stupid simple for both RAM and hard drive, once you remove the 10 Philips screws. Macbook Airs have soldered RAM but if you’ve got a T5 driver, the SSD is easily swapped. All of the Retina MBPs have soldered RAM and most of the current models have soldered SSDs.

All modern laptops make swapping HDD a breeze, most make RAM swaps easy too.

You’re right, the old Media Creation Tools wouldn’t create media on USB properly. It works now, but I still use Rufus, because it works.

Instead of going through the trouble of reinstalling your entire operating system, including programs and transferring data, you could instead just do a tiny bit of regular maintenance which would prevent the computer from running like ass in the first place:
