Yeah, I was going to say, I'm pretty sure that scene was animatronic. The scene where it steps out over the rail/curb onto the ground is a mix of animatronics/CG, and it looked very convincing.

Well, the difference is that the Boxster model, as much as it looks like the Cayman, is a vast improvement over the previous model of Boxster. The Cayman model on the other hand, just doesn't appeal to me as much as the previous Cayman- it's small things, like the integrated spoiler, the lack of the gills on the…
Yeah, and Life of Pi (seriously watch it if you haven't seen it yet- some incredibly mind blowing visuals. And, it was shot 3D first like Avatar, so the 3D is very good).
Same. It's really hard to improve upon perfection.
I agree with you on the Cayman- I think the original was one of the sexiest vehicles ever concieved. However, I completely disagree on the Boxster- it looked cheap and frumpy next to a Cayman, and the new one is a complete over-due redesign. The new Boxster is much better than the old ones, which always screamed to me…
Like all things PC, your experience w/ the demo unit touchscreen was likely dependent on hardware.
These are all really good questions Brian. Excellent writeup. It's nice to see these kinds of articles shine a ray of light through a lot of the biased, misleading crap we've been getting a lot around here. Keep up the good work!
No, the 5870 is a DirectX 11 card from the day it launched. It's the original Cypress architecture, which I believe is what the 6xxx series is a revised improvement on (superior tessellation, CrossfireX, and Eyefinity support are the main improvements; I don't think there were any real horsepower bumps).
Any particular models? I have a 6850 right now and found my exact MSI 6850 a week or so ago for $109, which is more than $50 off what the previous price was (it's running between $160-200 right now, and is currently one of the more expensive 6850s). Get 2 of them for a potent rig at $200.
Assuming the 6 hit him and didn't work, I'd say it's time to GTFO. Sounds like one of those alien bounty hunters or super soldiers.
Normally I'd agree, but he clearly said "Obama style". Meh, not worried either way.
No, you're paying $20 more for the "convenience" of lower resolution game play and jaggies. I can hook my laptop up to my TV via HDMI and play it just fine w/ a wireless 360 controller. :-)
No, but I've almost completed the game, and DLC or no, it's not worth $30. As for Steam on PS3, there is a way to connect your PS3 to Steam, though I have a feeling it's not what you're looking for: http://store.steampowered.com/psn/beginsetup
As someone who picked up Deus Ex HR for about $7.00 on Steam last year, let me assure you you got screwed.
I'm pretty sure they've used confetti every year though, right? I'm sure it's a big chore to clean up, but if they couldn't do it properly, I'm sure they wouldn't keep doing it year after year.
Well, duh. I'm not sure where you pulled the "BluRay is what causes they PS3's graphics to be not as good as the competition" argument from, but, again, "duh".
Came here to say this, but with Quake instead of TFC.
"Tragic Flaw: The Operating System. You're stuck with OSX, which precludes hardcore gaming with all but a small handful of titles from the past 7 or 8 years."
Sounds about right. God, I hate Gawker.
