STORY TIME:

I made the biggest mistake of being one of the last to leave one year. I also made another mistake of bringing my flask full of 151 because we were only permitted 2 drink tickets at the door (I didn’t expect the execs to be handing them out by the fistful later to anyone who walked by). I stayed too later,

Yeah, the steps described in the article were things I’ve heard in legends, but never did in practice. I actually would just use cold butter and immediately plop the dough onto the baking sheet because, psychologically, cookies were supposed to be the fast baked good. They seem to turn out fine.

Interesting juxtaposition of the picture with the text of the article. Article suggests doing meaningful things, picture says drink heavily. I know which one I’m going for!

I thought cookies were supposed to be the easy thing to bake, but this article makes it sound like vector calculus might be simpler.

This is a known secret. I still don’t understand why the majority of the people feels offended by the tradeoff from using a smartphone. Businesses needs to get paid. Modern consumer demands everything free or with minimal fees. There’s no such thing as afree lunch. And then we compare ourselves better than the Chinese

And this matters to the average person how?

So a large newspaper with lots of money was able to track her whereabouts for a while. A little disconcerting, but no legitimate harm done. Let me ask in a different way: for the average person, what’s the actual physical, emotional, or spiritual harm of getting targeted ads based on location data?

lol, i think you watch too much porn, either that or you run in a very weird social circle.  maybe both.  i kept expecting there to be a punchline at the end, but it never came.

You know what they call alternative medicine that’s been proved to work? Medicine.

In the end, it’s still their body and their choice to make.

VMWare still uses Flash. They are by far the most use virtualization tech. So good luck with that.

Wow. This is a great article that I hope every parent... no, every person reads. Thanks for sharing this wisdom of kindness and civility, especially in our current climate. I needed this.

“Say, ‘Hey, how are you? What’s your name?’ That’s it. And see what happens. Jump in.”
Great article. Totally agree.

This is isn’t a terrible idea but it’s probably not a great idea either...i.e. unless you are somewhere for awhile do you really want to invest in a likely chemistry free evening? How many 1st dates lead to a 2nd date? So you’re going to either get stood up, have a terrible time or a great time with somebody you can

Yaaay! I can be rejected in all of the cities that I travel to. Woohoo! ;)

But how am I going to not make eye contact or talk to the people I’m with??

So hey, I don't usually like people either. But I love the bar alone. I bring a book. Sometimes it's nice to be among people... And sometimes after a couple I find myself really engaged in conversation. It's usually a surprise to be enjoying the company of strangers... A nice surprise. So most nights it's just a book,

I think I found the problem.  I don’t like meeting new people.

1. Sit down.
