Small talk get’s a bad reputation, because it is most often used when you aren’t trying to make connections or friends. You are just stuck with people you don’t want to be around. For a long time. So the small talk never moves on to anything else.

This advice falls into the same trap as other advice about how to stay motivated at your job - it fails to recognize that the work is the primary motivator. The work drives all the other stuff, not the other way around.

I love that you can find cheap led bulbs out there. But I wish that there were more choices with the candelabra base. So many ceiling fans these days use that socket size, and the bulbs are at least $13 each.

We have a black schnauzer, so make sure to pay attention to how she is acting when it’s hot outside. When I give her water, I also dump some on her back to wet her coat, and rub some water on her ears to help cool her down (but don’t get any in her ears!).

Only works if you find people interesting. But I agree - it’s better if you listen.

note to current lemonade stand owners - go to the local restaurant supply store and get cups, lids, and straws. Make sure you display them. People are much more likely to buy if they know they won’t get the drink spilled all over their car.
