The Volt was a great car. It actually did serve it’s intended market as advertised. I owned one and LOVED it. Even on long road trips, I had little problem getting permission to plug mine into an available 120V outlet and get a solid 45ish miles out of it in EV mode every morning. It wasn’t a huge thing, but it made a

What went wrong? I’ll tell you what went wrong. They made a 4 door gas sipper into a 4 door gas sipper that was really expensive. If they would just make something useful out of this platform. Oh, I don’t know, how a bout a small pickup. You know the thing that keeps GM and Ford in business. Why is this such a

For people that could not 100% commit, like my dad...

I think you’re underselling how significant the Volt was in 2010. There was no other plug-in hybrid at the time, certainly not one with enough range to make it to work and back for most people.  For most commutes it was just as good as an EV, except you could actually use it outside the battery range when needed.

I feel like that’s more along the lines of (insert North American manufacturer here) mad-libs.

What went wrong:

You can almost play GM mad-libs here!  (Go ahead and play!)

The pickup with the lift kit will be the Dolt and the one with the biggest recall will be the Jolt..

Ohh, WORKED on it. I did an oil change, transmission fluid change, spark plugs and air filter right after buying one a few years ago but I guess that’s not quite what you meant.

No, the Jolt. As in “What a jolt to the pocketbook!!”

The Volt’s going away, but the Bolt is still around.

Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV. It is very...okay. However the drivetrain is like the GM Voltek system, so essentially electric drive with ICE generator. Packaging and styling are not where they need to be for a $50K car but it is getting close.

I’m quite curious to see how the Wrangler turns out. If I could choose to cruise forest roads on electric power only, that would be fantastic.

The Mazda Mazda3 seems like it was designed with a handicap: that only 270 out of the entire 360 view of the car can look good and the rest MUST be fugly or the lead designer has to eat American-style sushi.

Can’t wait to see the Aviator on the road. Look out Land Rover.

I think it is time for a new Shogun:

What about that Audi E-Tron? I think that’s pretty important too.

Which would you rather have: A Rivian R1T or a Jeep Gladiator?
