Since GM is moving to Ultium all the things, it would makes sense that the Bolt ends.

I like most of it, and props to Toyota for making the hybrid standard. Too bad it’s not a plug-in hybrid. That being said:

I hear you. Maybe solid rear axle plus hybrid components get in the way?

Regardless, it looks terrible (also third row is nearly on the floor).

The good news is that you can clear up the paperwork for the red FC-150 from the heated comfort of indoors prior to (or after) the weekend. Also you can then toss it up for free on ewillys.com and it will be gone shortly thereafter. That’s the easy one, ignoring why it won’t start.

Gauges are the face (to the driver) of a car. So many customizers miss this and go with modern auto parts repros... fail.

Steelies rule!

Economic invention.

I think the reference is to the (salt) water. Maybe Japan could build a bunch of desalination plants with co-located hydrogen production. That would take a lot of electricity, but nuclear power matches this quite well.

Is this a poster for Italian Job III?

This.

This. Coupled with the pedestrian hood crush standards and you get vehicles with the outward visibility of a WWII pillbox.

This.

There also doesn’t seem to be any check and balance for the pedestrian crash standards. The consequence of the raised hoods and overall worse visibility incurred to comply with the rollover standards is deeply concerning.

Yup. It’s funny how frequently CAFE gets attacked, yet the details of CAFE is what’s created so many brodozers and “crossovers.”

Rollover standards leading to thicker A and B pillars that don’t include some check for blind spots. Outward visibility in general, actually.

True. Very true.

This. Thank you.

1. Buy an off-lease one of these in years.

Right there with you.

Uh, the works council (Betriebsrat) aren’t quite the same as what we in the U.S. think of unions. Any German company with five or more employees can have one and membership must be a mix. Senior management is excluded.
