This. And while the Prius should be lauded for its efficiency, the EPA ratings on its trucks and SUVs are abysmal. Anyone for a green Toyota Tundra?

Here’s part of the problem:

Nearly every article on the Tesla workers in “Berlin” conflates workers councils and unions.

It was interesting to see both Ford (with the new Escape) and Jeep (with the new Wagoneer and Grand Cherokee) talk about bigger windows, lower beltline, and better overall outward visibility. Someone is listening.

You’re exactly right. Perhaps to no surprise, the electric transit bus demos have already reached the same conclusion with winter heating: heat the stuff that passengers touch (seats, floor, handles, etc.) and heat some of the air, instead of heating just the air. That saves a lot of energy.

And kept a high belt line to mirror the experience of riding in a 1970s LTD.

How do we thin pillars, lower the cowl, and enlarge the windows? In other words, how do we bring back excellent outward visibility? I would pay money for that.

Hat tip for the win. My brother and sister have owned six Subarus between the two of them... and 11 head gaskets.

The stylists were four committees who hated each other.

Perhaps. Until they take a long road trip somewhere with sparse or poorly-functioning fast charging.

Yeah. So much this. Lower the beltlines. Thin the pillars. Block off the rear and throw away the “sportback” styling.

You missed part of the headline:

Seriously: who are those four?

How about zero tailpipe emissions? See Jon Myer’s comment in this thread for further commentary. Also, it’s not just CO2, but the little bits known as NOx, SOx, and PM that impact air quality and our human health. Better to have that exhaust coming out of power plants much further from our lungs than from the tailpipe

There are counties in the U.S. with 18% EV market share (rolling 12 month sales average):

Well-said. Let’s put this on a t-shirt.

Yeah, San Francisco resident here. The headlines are writing themselves. Between the recent antics of the school board and the DA (both of whom acted extreme enough to get a recall election passed) and now the behavior of the Board of Supervisors, folks around here are starting to say enough is enough. Why is the

Exactly this. It was a rush to grab spots (and meet deadlines). Not enough $ and time went into making sure the product worked across all four vendors. One of the four indeed is now being ripped out.
