I agree in a “all-of-the-above” type strategy with clean fuels.

Good point. How EV drivers charging their cars in Europe where high-density housing and few garages is the norm?

The European EV success this year is also due to the stricter emissions regs that kicked in January 1, 2020. More carrot (incentives). More stick (fines). More customer selection (existence and available of EVs in popular models and body styles). And EV sales are up while gasoline/diesel sales are down.

I also wonder about the underlying health conditions of the attendees? What % were in good health? What % were not? Seems like pouring gasoline on a fire... but what do I know? I’m just a caveman.

Or on golf courses?

Agree with you on the range-extended/PHEV (as a former i3 REx owner). BMW’s flaw was to make the gas two cylinder too small, unlike the Volt which had plenty of power.

Exactly. Hey, GM - where are the plug-in versions of your best-selling vehicles in the US?

Wow, so that’s what happens when the VTEC kicks in, yo.

Me too. There are rumors...

This.

Jeep is putting in solar-powered charging stations at some trailheads... as well as at Rubicon Springs, halfway across the Rubicon. That being said, a recent article stated it made it across the entire 22 miles of the Rubicon on a single charge.

Okay, I’ll bite:

This.

Isn’t this why pillar-mounted airbags have to be so strong - the US standard assumes an unbelted occupant? I am just trying to understand why pillars are so thick and outward visibility sucks so bad.

I haven’t had a chance to double-check, but a kind automotive engineer on here recently enlightened me that many of these rollover and other crash standards are to protect unbelted occupants...

$100K? Not until they slim down the pillars, fix the D pillar, and make the front and rear unique? C’mon Jeep. You have decades of material to inspire you.

Yikes .

Best post I’ve read in a while. Thank you. Hat tip for “Goldilocks zone.” That’s perfect.
