Reverse - Model As!
I assume this line is due to the Thanksgiving (holiday) rush, but how much is due to the free price of Supercharging for many Model S and X owners? Free creates perverse incentives, even if one values their time.
All it takes is vision, planning, and gumption like this guy in Illinois: https://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=51567
Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid is the answer. Unless you need to go off-road.
Is the electric driving range of these latest BMW PHEVs going to be 30+ miles? That would be sweet.
Yup. Exactly this. Range-extending is a great idea; the problem is specific to the i3 REx - the darn two cylinder is intended to get you home slowly in the case of emergency at 50 mph on flat ground, not something that moves the i3 at 75 mph up a 6% grade. There simply is not enough power.
Did you use cabin pre-heating at all? That’s one of the awesome things about EVs - use the grid when it’s cold outside to make inside toasty warm while de-icing the windows. Won’t work on a 120v, but would be curious as to your experiences on 240V.
How’s the outward visibility? The belt line looks really high.
Model 3? McClaren F1?
Get a plug-in RAV4 this summer. 0-60 in 5.8 seconds!
Yeah, 2016 plug-in hybrid BMW X5s that stickered for ~$60k+ are coming off lease and on carsguru from $28k to $32k.
The battery is covered under warranty.
We used the 120V Level 1 cordset and a regular 120V outlet. It charged at around 10 amps. Worked fine. We were asleep while it charged.
We recharged every night. Plugged in when we got home and it switched on around midnight. Full in the morning. 120V (Level 1) was plenty of time for our EV to charge. Even as time went on and our family and successive EV grew, our daily mileage did not. Hence, the 120V and overnight charging still worked, no matter…
These colors are so much better than the dozens of shades of silver, gray, white, and bronze from not that many years ago.
For a while (and maybe still), Audi dealers weren’t stocking the e-tron. You had to order one. Seems like a self-fulfilling prophecy for a traditional OEM.
We used a 120V outlet. Worked great, even with the cheap EV rate starting at 11 PM.
This.
That’s tough. Do you have access to 120V wall outlet? That’s what we used.
