Honda and Hyundai/KIA (okay, they’re not Japanese, but used the Chademo on the first-gen Soul EV) switched to CCS/Combo in the US. It’s just Nissan and Mitsubishi who use Chademo in the US. Subaru and Mazda haven’t released a BEV here yet.

Talk about race to the bottom.

Here it is this morning.

Yeah, I can’t wait for the plug-in hybrid Jeep Wrangler for exactly this.

Hat tip.

1. Repurposed and re-used in EVs or as stationary storage.

Used Bolts are going for about $18k in the Bay Area...

True. The Volt was awesome, but now it’s gone. There’s currently not much to pick from in the PHEV world in the US. The good news is that there are a ton of ~30 mile PHEVs coming to the US market over the next few years.

Yup, the regs coming out of China, the EU, and California are pushing this (and in that order).

There’s a gray one in the Lower Haight. Maybe the New York one, the blue one in Tokyo, and that one are all siblings - off exploring the world.

Hop into a Nissan LEAF, Gen 1. Wonder what the committee of people who designed the interior hated each other so much. Why are there two digial clocks with different fonts in different locations with different controls? Oh why?

Yup. GM could have tossed the Voltec into the Equinox and shown the world how it’s done with a PHEV crossover.

Agreed. It’s also too bad they don’t make a PHEV version of the Tundra/Sequoia/Tacoma.

About time one of the big OEMs put forth a plug-in version of their beloved crossover (sorry Mitsubishi). With Ford’s PHEV Escape and its upmarket Lincoln sibling - the Corsair - this is going to get interested. Oh, and bring on the PHEV Jeep Wrangler.

This.

This.

Also, this is why the Ford Explorer Hybrid with the police package is expected to save LEO fleets so much money.

How about Rivian?

Thanks for this. How can I tell the Feds how much I hate thick A, B, and C pillars and terrible outward visibility in general?

See going through security.
