I should add, I can't imagine apps won't progress to utilize the higher performance of the new iDevices just like they do with Android devices, so buying 2 year old technology might cause new apps you want to use to not work as intended. If all apps run the same across all Apple tablets, then something is wrong.

I didn't really say it was obsolete, I just said it used really old hardware and that most of the people excited about it don't realize that. Why wouldn't you just buy an iPad 2 for roughly the same price if you didn't care about the performance. Why would you want "runs it" when you could have "runs it great" instead?

My right thumb is nowhere near the buttons. It's near the notification screen launcher, but I usually am not holding the tablet with both hands so I don't really use my right thumb for anything but space bar.

Well, that's where they are on the Nexus 7. I guess if it does follow the Nexus theme, it'll be unskinned Android, and that would be what you see on Android 4+. Honestly, I hold the device with my left hand as I am right-handed, so I tend to not use my left thumb for anything but grasping anyway so moving them to the

Actually, I keep hitting the back button on my Galaxy Tab whilst playing games... in the middle and hidden when in-game would be fantastic.

The bezel looks about on par with other 10" tablets including the iPad except that there are wrap around speakers on either side (which should be good for sound as they appear to run the full height of the tablet) but any less bezel area (excluding the obvious added speaker region) would have you hitting the screen

Lol... you are basically saying their old software sucked and they were able to squeeze more performance out of it by optimizing it. Yeah, all software vendors do that. That's why Android 4 runs better on the same hardware as Android 3 or 2 did, and Android 4.1 runs better on all that hardware too.

Well, in all fairness... the Windows 8 tablet is "new" technology all around. If you are a Microsoft fan, and you want to have a Windows 8 environment, it should be every bit your iPad replacement. The iPad Mini... it's a 19 month old product crammed into a case 2" smaller diagonally. That's about it. It would have

My bad, 19 months.

Thank you oh wise and smart sounding individual. iPad 2 launched March 11, 2011. You are thinking of the "new" iPad (3) which launched 6 months ago. You are also now wondering how you thought the iPad Mini had the same components such a the processor, not from a 6 month old device, but from a 18 month old device. Then

But it's Microsoft and it runs Windows right? Can't go wrong there. Same people that spent extra money buying a Sony branded "Walkman" in the 80's when there were comparable products for half the price... marketing works.

Making grandiose statements about how your design is the best ever... that never goes wrong. At least Apple's execs have learned from their past mistakes... ;o)

Exactly. Just like apps don't work well on a 3.5" screen anymore, but they are perfect on a 3.5" screen that has been stretched another quarter of an inch vertically. It's as if Apple is rewriting the laws of nature for us.

This morning they had a built-in ad for this device on our local news. One of the news casters said Wow, an iPad that's a little smaller but just as great, at an affordable price. I might just get one now. And that pretty much sums it up. Most people don't know anything other than it's an iPad and it's cheaper, and

Yeah, they affect his outlook on the throngs of people that share the planet with him... he realizes that a LOT of people truly do buy without doing any research or knowing what they are actually getting.

http://www.amctv.com/the-walking-dead/videos/episode-301-the-walking-dead is the first episode. They don't seem to have any others at the moment.

Yeah, it'll run a Linux operating system with a GUI interface... I'm currently using it with XBMC to play multimedia content. I have a home built PVR (MythTV) which is interfaces with and allows full HD playback of recorded shows, videos, music and live TV. It'll also interface with a handful of other PVRs as well,

Hector!!!

Unfortunately everybody has to have the latest GooDevice to appear cool...

It takes a lot of MP3s and Game of Thrones sales to equal an $800 tablet...
