So much unprofessionalism. The sexist commentary in what is supposed to be a dispassionate scholarly analysis. The plagiarizing of the sexist textbook.  The professor using a 20-30 year old textbook. Had she been teaching the same curriculum since the 1980s?

This is so true! And sometimes the professor doesn’t even harshly grade them on the plagiarized assignment. I was a TA in grad school, and was grading a homework assignment when I found that one student directly lifted a full, sizable paragraph without quotations or a citation. I was prepared to give them a zero on…

I teach at a community college, and I can only give them an “F” on the assignment that is plagiarized. At a private university, I set my own policy on it, and I will fail any student who does it, though thankfully all of those students never made me do it.

The consequences for plagiarism are significantly reduced from when I was a student.  In the past, you could be removed from the school for it, at very least fail the class.  Now, I can only harshly grade them on the assignment they plagiarized.

Just as every internet comment about why feminism isn’t needed proves that feminism IS needed, every internet comment about how awful Star Wars fans are will result in Star Wars fans proving that yes, they are awful.

Even after staring at it for several seconds, I still don’t get the “tube top” thing. Looks more like those things you zip around the tops of your shoes so snow and slush don’t get in.
