1st gear - For life of me, I can’t figure out why anyone one who doesn’t actually need a car (as in non-repairable, stolen, etc.) is buying one right now. The Gravy Train of Greed only survives because the buying public is enabling it.

Sounds good, why bother to look up what it actually means?

That’s BS.

If the driver had been of Middle Eastern decent, they would be in jail facing domestic terrorism charges, so why is the discussion about stepping down when it should be why the f--- is she not behind bars?

Er, plow through her responsibilities from the video.

Charger and Challenger will be reborn as a 890 hp equivalent minivans with batteries that take up what should be the third seat/cargo area, aimed at the same demographic who wants their EV to be as squanderous of natural resources as possible, like GM’s Hummer.

Zinta the biosecurity sniffing dog at the Darwin Airport (could this story have any more local color?) deserves her own YouTube Channel. That would really get the word out, plus provide hours of fun for the rest of us.

The blue hockey stick on the sides looks idiotic. Blue trim on EVs in 2022 is the equivalent of black web page backgrounds in the 1990s, ugly and hard to look at.

So one truck crash triggers a federal investigation, but it took countless crashes around the world for how many years to get any eyes on Tesla’s bullshit? WTF.

It was looking good until I saw the interior. And even if it wasn’t ripped up, that shade of gray is criminally ugly. Ugly and shiny.

5th gear: If Americans don’t buy hatchbacks how are they getting into the arse end of all those crossovers and SUVs (except for Ford’s EcoSport)?

LOL to the cat naming vehicles, AMEN to taking away the ugly sticks.

Wouldn’t that be bzzforks?

Exactly. Reservations just give companies something to spin into marketing bullshit. And the concept of a “conquest reservation” is so flimsy I can’t even believe Jalopnik became GM’s mouthpiece to parrot it.

I proofread for a living. :-)

This was a good QOTD and interesting responses, but please stop doing slide shows.

Please stop doing slide shows.

They wouldn’t be able to retroactively do this, but if it’s written into the sales contract or warranty before the sale, they are golden.

Rarely admire anything GM does. Admire this a lot. I think we have Ford’s recent actions in this area for getting GM riled up, but it’s still good.

I agree. Instead of jail time for tax fraud, the fine should hurt really bad. I’m thinking a 1:1 ratio would be a good incentive at every tax bracket. Fudge away $500, owe $500 + $ 500 penalty. Fudge away 5 million... well, you get the picture.
