I’ve read that book a number of times. It never ceases to hit me emotionally. With America defeated there really was no stopping Japan and Germany. It literally could have been a 1000 year Reich. The trade in pre-war nostalgia, especially the Mickey Mouse watch- was especially moving to me.

I watched the first episode and compared to Burning Love, I found it pretty awful. However, based on this review- I'll give it a few more episodes. Sonia, have you seen Burning Love?

Everyone is assuming that it was only humans that experienced the 2% loss. If that is true, that almost certainly means it was an artificial event brought on by either supernatural or advanced alien forces beyond our understanding. However, while it would be easy to tell if 2% of every other species was also taken,

Nothing angers me more than the G.R., especially Laurie. People that do strange shit (like not talking) always has pissed me off- and the fact that Laurie left her remaining family members just angers me to the core.

It wasn't bleeped out- the answering machine "beeped" when his time to leave the message expired.

I was surprised at how angry I got at Frankie forgetting to mail out the reminder cards. Perhaps it was the way it was shown, but she was just so dismissive- and obviously as we saw it strongly affected her employer's business- the same employer that really has treated her well.

I don't know. I certainly don't think she would cheat on Joel if they get back together, but I never really got the sense that she regretted it.

It should have been the same for Julia. She went from being totally in the mindset of thinking it was all just a temporary thing and that Joel would walk in any moment to having sex with basically a stranger in a very short period of time. It has to be extremely weird, and I can only hope that Julia is smart enough

She always leaves her door unlocked anyway! :)

True, but I'd say her apartment was still plenty expensive though. It wasn't exactly that small.

Is your name Flashman from the excellent Flashman series by George MacDonald Fraser?

While I know Joel told Julia that he wasn't trying to work things out in the marriage during that fateful conversation, I couldn't help feeling sorry for the guy when they were standing in the frozen yogurt place. He hasn't done anything sexual outside of his marriage at all- and Julia actually had hot passionate sex

Yep- even with the apartment, car, and everything.

So how did Sarah and/or Amber pay for the hotel that she told Ryan's mother they were staying at as long as Ryan was in the hospital? That restaurant was probably part of the hotel so it was likely expensive. And, even a cheap motel would set you back at least $99 per night- and based on the location, most likely

That's good to know.

Were they hippies, or was it just another man in the bed because the relationship is totally open?

While I thought the pilot was okay, my enthusiasm was tempered by depression. What a choice: $10 million for the whole shebang, or $200k to give a billionaire venture capitalist a 5% stake? I never really related to the guys from Entourage so that never depressed me- I relate much more with these characters and I

I think Debbie is in for some really hard times. Middle school can be brutal at the best of times, and with all those pictures on social media- I'd be watching her very carefully.

I didn't really like how Darryl's group was handled (although the scene itself was tense and well done). It seemed that Joe and Darryl made some connections in the last episode- and now, because Darryl says that Rick is a good person- Joe says it's a lie and orders his men to beat Darryl to death?

Sarah just wandering off really pissed me off. I'm glad I'm not the only one that noticed that!
