It seems to me that Amon has a role for Korra to play in his plan though. If she continues to use/abuse her bending abilities like she did against the megaphone guy I can see Amon trying to turn public sentiment against benders using Korra as the poster-child (or avatar teehee) of bending.

I am also finding some of the dialogue very clunky - the exchange you mention is a perfect example. There have definitely been more than a few times when they should have gone the 'show' not 'tell' route.

I agree with you about the Killing. Before the season one finale I was optimistic about a second season. I saw enough good qualities in the show that a reset of sorts by starting a new case in the next season could have made me overlook some of the big faults of season 1.
The investigation in season 1 felt long in the

I guess i look at (serialised) TV differently. I see an episode as being akin to a chapter/number of chapters of a book, and a season akin to a book in a series. Sometimes I'll give an episode a pass for not being engaging in and of itself if it lends itself well to a seasonal arc.
Game of Thrones is the obvious

OMG C/C R G/G?

That is my recollection too. I was under the impression that he went home with Robb's offer but was quick to put his own idea on the table.

I dont think that this phenomena is exclusive to ASOIAF. I get the impression that as most series go on (and becomes more fasmous) the writer get more control, and an editor less.

@avclub-fff4ac4c2f46e5cd75ec8b515c235031:disqus  Haha you have me there. But like someone else mentioned, there is a
difference between a sex scene or incidental nudity and "Hey look at
these titties… look!… good hey?".

@avclub-68c81a145181a6b3092221895a3fd1a9:disqus  I think I could remove 'females' from my sentence and just say "The show seems hell bent on ruining any good will it eans by having
strong characters (and plotting, themes - any ingredient of a good drama) by adding random naked women for no good reason."

Mothafucka needs to do a lot of things.

I definitely appreciated not being privy to endless action scenes, but its not as if by leaving them out we were left with a taut, tightly paced read. There is a lot of fat that could be trimmed - not just the action.

After finishing A Clash of Kings, a friend who had seen season 1 of the show asked me if I liked the book. I answered that if they adapted the book well it would make for a better season of TV than it did a book. I think from the decisions they made in this episode strengthen my argument.

Except not really. The show seems hell bent on ruining any good will it eans by having strong female characters by adding random naked women for no good reason. The sex scenes are beyond absurd and out of place.

I am in a similar boat. I finished A Storm of Swords this morning and know i wont get a chance to read the next two before season 2 ends. As much as i want to reat the Expert reviews, I also dont want to be spoiled!

I also didnt think Dick and Don were so close in age. Doesnt one season (or ep) start with Don visiting a doctor and making a comment about his age in relation to his health - the point being that Dick is noticably younger than 'Don'?

Judging from just the trailers and clips that had been released, I was concerned about Korra's voice actress. But having seen the first ep, I think she was near on perfect.
I think my concern was based on the disjointed/poorly edited promo clips showing only one side of

It's kind of sad. Not even Michael C believes he will win. He lacks any conviction or vision. How'd he get so far, twice?

I am a little bummed to see then swap the tribes around. I would have loved seeing how the existing dynamics unfolded.

Can we all agree to never mention Colton ever ever again after this season is over?

I also seem to remember that they included that storyline becayse the actress was pregnant but they didnt want to have the character actually have (and then care for) a child. So basically it was an easy way to explain her being pragnant without any long term ramifications for the show.
