You’re wrong. He wrote both The Proposal and Eagle Eye, both of which wer ehighly successful. It is true she had extensive production history on TV, but she had never written a movie and Hollywood doesn’t care about your TV experience. He had twice the experience as her and everything he had done was successful.

It does refute Jason’s point. Jason is saying a 14% lay off of staff is a massive layoff and the other guy is saying, Gamestop didn’t lay off 14% of it’s staff.

The Three Body Problem was a very awkward read for me. I never finished it. The story seemed like it was interesting but I felt like I was reading it through Google Translate.

People try WAY too hard to hate this movie.  It's not Best Picture-worthy (especially not in a cinema year as great as 1999), but it's pretty damn good.  If it came and went without all of the awards hooplah I have no doubt it would be hailed as a "forgotten gem" or something similar.
