I’ll agree with you up to a point:

XV had the most emotionally impactful ending sequence for about the first half of that sequence. Without spoiling anything too much, the brotherhood/camaraderie that’s established between the Big Four during the course of the game definitely felt earned (except for that deus ex

This so much. The story is so badly told in FF15, nothing really invested me. And I am a guy who LOVES playing video games for their stories, even mediocre ones. Even the very end is played in reverse order! So you don’t get any emotional impact from any of it. The very last cutscene should have been played BEFORE

I don’t get why they’re making it such a pain in the ass. Here’s what it should’ve looked like:

I love paying 70+ dollars (plus a monthly fee) to have the privilege of paying full price for year-old games that will—AT BEST—have mild amounts of noticeable input latency.

Maybe play it on any other vastly superior system? ;)

I feel so fucking represented by your brightness settings.

Let’s fragment a very limited market with platform exclusives, business!

Just so you know, the ps5 will have backwards compatibility with ps4 Games.

Why does the whole thing NEED to be played on a single console generation?  No one had a problem with other franchises like Uncharted or God of War spanning multiple generations.  Just play this one on PS4, then the next one on whatever comes next.

I believe its a half/half thing, yeah SE COULD’VE given us a full game but it would’ve taken 340304300 years and after the XV fiasco that’s the last thing it needs. However I definitely still blame SE for mentioning the words ‘Episodic’ that kind of poisoned the well because of games doing that shit before ala

I WATCHED THIS FUCKING TRAILER 20 TIMES ALREADY AND I KEEP FUCKING SCREAMING VERY LOUDLY. I NEED A GODDAMN LIFE ALERT

This shit is never going away. Gamers have already spoken with their wallets, and the sad truth is that they’ve said, “We’re ok with this.”

Now playing

As a long time fan of the series (been playing since the PS2 days) I am VERY excited by the change of pace that’s happening here. I remember when the game was first announced as Shin Yakuza being heavily disinterested in what they were putting out there (not only was it Kamurocho again, but now there’s a “new dragon”

Can’t have a Kotaku article without drama.

Best part, the dolphins.

I love the dumb, sexy nonsense that is DoA and its spinoffs, and I hope they never, ever change.

This is just the dumbest article. How this and amazing pieces by Jason can be on the same site baffles me.

It was not entirely random, there were scripted sequences, that were shuffled every time you played the game by a) chance and b) your decisions what you’d do first. For example, you’ll always find the grenade launcher first, no matter whether you go to the power station or the RPD first, and then the Magnum in the

You want stars? I’ll give you stars

Fun fact, my big brother bricked RE3 one time. He played the three settings of Easy, Normal, Hard just to see if he could kill the Nemesis on a dare and he did all three times.
