I predict that there will be at least one noteworthy case of malicious software for the Mac in the next 12 months.

it's a hard thing to prove definitively, but I do believe Apple's operating system is more secure than Windows. There are cogent arguments out there, Pogue notwithstanding. But many people still find fault with them.
Nice tip! Plus I'll drink twice as much and that's bound to be fun. :)
As someone who agonizes about the sketchy quality of the writing on his blog, I still rise in defense of immediacy. Editing is for wimps! Blogging, it has been said, is the art of writing frequently and badly in public. You want to write a magazine article, go do that. Blogs are more conversational. Spelling and…
Here's a small-scale, simple one: the dictionary. Mores specifically, the dictionary widget in the Mac OS X Dashboard. God, how I love it. One keystroke and I'm looking up any intriguing or beguiling or mystifying word, be it one that's popped into my head while I'm writing or one that someone else surprised me…
I'm sure many realize, but the Mac OS has had this built-in for years and years. I tend to use it, but only in a visual sense, not for intelligent searching. LIke if I have a half a dozen items in a folder and one that I want to catch my attention, I'll flag it with a bright color. (Which gives the area behind it's…
Definitely a laptop. Anyone who's ever had a noisy roommate or just wanted to work in a library or cafe instead of their cramped living space, could tell you that.
Sigh, that write-up nearly describes my current situation...
My problem isn't backing up - I can do that via PHPMyAdmin. The issue is 'restoring' to a different installation of WP. The [wordpress.org] site has instructions on how to use some third-party software to do it, but it cannot connect to my database remotely. (Perhaps my database is set up to only accept connections…
Number 4 seems fishy to me. I've never heard any respectable medical authority say that taking vitamin supplements does anything for you unless your diet is very poor. It does make the vitamin industry rich, though.
Whenever they start to blame themselves, respond by blaming the computer. Then keep on blaming the computer, no matter how many times it takes, in a calm, authoritative tone of voice. If you need to show off, show off your ability to criticize bad design.
That Frou Frou album is awesome. Imogen Heap, the vocalist, has a new album out, too, which is also really good.
I wouldn't go back to relive high school or junior high for a million dollars. I barely survived it the first time! I agree with Gina: aside from a couple of outlying high and low points, life keeps getting better and better as I get older. At this rate my life will be perfect right around the time I'm dead!
I want to reiterate my position, after my strong statements above. I have no problem with the techniques and principles being applied above. They are undoubtedly far superior to relentless nagging or silent resentment, etc. My complaint isn't about that. It's about the tone of the article. It's about the fact…
And since you can't drink any wine out of the glass once you've implemented this ingenious solution, you won't be quite so hung over and thus won't be so inclined to oversleep your alarm in the first place. Double bonus!
I am getting about 80, which is a similar to results I've gotten elsewhere a few years ago. I also had problems with the one space after a period thing, too. But a neat site!
"Positive psychology" or not, if any woman adopted the article's attitude toward me, she'd not have to worry about my laundry; neither it nor I would ever darken her doorstep again.
Brian you stole my thunder big-time. The article does indeed strike me as it struck Junyo - offensive in tone if not in substance - and you put your finger on why.
I am such a stupid sucker for these and other bits of cheap organic jewelry. Friendship bracelets, hemp, beads, all of it.
