So how many other car makers were sourcing engines from Chevrolet in '65? Let's see...there was Studebaker (via GM Canada), Avanti II, Excalibur, Checker...and, oh yeah, Chevrolet.
It's reminiscent of the really bad old early-'50s movie "Radar Secret Service" (which you MSTies will remember from "Mystery Science Theatre 3000")...from the cheap Chevy to the high-tech crap of the day on the roof.
Let's not forget that the 428 Cobra Jet was a late-in-the-year addition to the Fairlane/Torino option list, and would also make a good choice to power this car.
