@TheStephenRay: I'd love to share my scripts ... but I don't really know a good way to do so. I'm thinking of starting a programming tips blog so I can share them and explain what they do.

@Jason Lambert: Well, I know one thing. In Vista & 7, an app that is "Run as Administrator" is immune to AHK shortcuts, unless I also run AHK as administrator. I would guess that it's possible for a "Standard User" to not have permission to install a keyboard hook like AHK. So you might need to get AHK to run as

@Protector one: I wrote a new comment explaining the "auto-execute" section, so hopefully that will help.

@Platypus Man: I used to only have a few scripts, but then I got LifeHacker'd and started accumulating others' scripts. I really needed an easier way to manage them.

sorry, double post :(

Here's a couple of tips for using the script.

@rkinne01: I hate them because they flicker! Move your eyes quickly across them and you'll see spots. Irritates me.

Yeah, but what do you do to unsubscribe from the countless Chinese spams that have no links, just ... squigglies?

@bhoppe: Yeah, I use that too and can't do multi-monitor without it! I've set it up to work with my "forward" mouse button so I can move windows between screens instantly.

One of the best uses for this - and the reason I use it - is to help Firefox open quickly by keeping it loaded. I'm constantly opening and closing Firefox windows, and by keeping the program loaded in the task tray, new windows open instantly! That's good enough reason to use it even if you do have Win7.

My favorite trick is great at parties, although it's not too useful day-to-day. I can divide 2-digit numbers by 7 and just rattle off the decimal places to infinity faster than they can read them off a calculator.

@sdn: I really like this one! I really like mentally refactoring problems to make them easier to solve, and this is a great example.

@vlatro: Awesome! Love the foil tricks I'm learning here!

@Ewiggin: Oh that's too bad. Those "packs" contain a couple of awesome programs, like a ink-crossword game, ink-Hexic, ink flash cards, and some other cool stuff. #openthread

@pkl007: Onenote is great, I love it.

@ckempo: Aptana looks like a great editor and debugger. I'm definitely going to give it a try for some JavaScript work. #teachyourself

@Sanjay: I absolutely love DreamSpark, but if you don't have an .edu, anyone can get the fully functional Express editions of VB.NET (and C#, etc) for free too.

@1112: Universal driver? What printer-manufacturer has blessed the world with such a wonderful thing? #psychology

@inventorjack: Exactly my thoughts! I HATED having 500 satellite channels; I would never rest on any show because I always felt there was something better on. I would end up spending my entire time in the guide. Going back to basic cable has done wonders for my tv-watching attention span - I can finally stay still
