I’ve had the dealership beat the CU offer I’ve had three times, and the CU beat the dealership twice. Sometimes, the dealership uses other credit unions in their bidding process. Other times, the dealership can get a better deal from the auto manufacturer’s financing wing.

And then they get mad when you finally do run their credit and they can’t finance a Schwinn but are trying to buy a $40,000 dollar car.

They lied. You got screwed.

I loved that line when I was selling cars.

On the flip side, I like getting people in who tell me, “I want to know exactly how much per month the car is with $xxx down before I give you my credit information.”
