And I think the C30 is beautiful! Have not shopped them yet: not ready for the overwhelming WANT

But who uses a gallon of gas to go get gas?(aside from the idiots who will drive across town to save $.02/gallon). I don’t live in an large city center or way out in the exurbs, but I don’t see this as an environmental savings. Possibly worth the time savings to some.

Really like the happy geeky-guppy look of the front end, and the interior speaks to me, but the the boy-racer treatment on the rear makes me wince.

Of the 4 VW power window failures I’ve fixed, none were the motor itself: 3 of the stupid, should-have-been-foreseen regulators(steel cable ‘secured’ by plastic molded around it: duh!), and the fourth was the switch.

I drive an 80s diesel, so remote-start isn’t a realistic option. A rubber-backed 3x5 mat like you see at convenience stores works great. Soft side toward windshield.

NO!!! ‘Cheap boat’ is a canoe! Trust me on this: I worked at a marina one summer, and still wrench in boats on the side(if they offer enough $!)

Bigger exhaust equals MOAR POWAH, amIright?

That is just beautiful! Almost Edwardian, when the aesthetics of design meant that functionality did not preclude pleasing form. Thanks for posting this.

Man, getting stood up sucks! I got stood up one New Years 13-14 years ago. Was pissed. She later commited suicide in >his< house, not mine, so I’m ok with it now.

Watched Butch Cassidy & The Sundance Kid last night: that’s a good NYE in my book.

A wink’s as good as a nod, eh?

Best wishes for the new year, Jason! And here’s hoping you can finally locate & drive the fabled GiggleMobile-that 2-wheeled, 1-post microcar constructed by frustrated Austrian composer Unt Mensche powered by an early high-speed log splitter motor and featuring ‘One-shaft’ or ‘pogo’ drive!

Yeah: totally not worth it! Aside from the costs, you could kill someone. While doing weekends for my 2nd one(30 years ago), I met a real nice guy who had been accepted by MIT. Smart, funny—and awaiting trial for running over a fireman at high speed with a bac over .2. Ended one life that night, and changed several

...and sell like 4 of them while we all bemoan their price new!

This! If you are nostalgic for the 70s, you either were zoned out then or in diapers—or maybe your parents were zoned out in diapers.

WHAT the >>actual<< ....???

Very nice: I’m jealous! Consider posting some of your adventures in the old girl 👍

They did—but tank was tiny. And in the dash, iirc. Gravity-fed, so sometimes you would have to reverse up a steep hill to keep the flow going!

Autonomous cars are going to take a long effing time to be majority on the road I’m facing(US220, South of Roanoke Va). Much of the regular traffic is 90s beaters people use to commute from exurbia to their new service job in town since the factories in their area shut down. These people can't afford a decent 2nd-hand
