Best news all day, I seriously feel relieved. I just kept thinking about that stupid long kill in Jurassic World and worried something similar would be in IX.

I think it’s a different situation; the main films in Star Wars require a consistent tone to be successful, while the Marvel films have more room to fly because of the inconsistent tones of their base materials. But don’t forget Marvel wasn’t shy about firing some of their directors.
What is: Probably a good thing (the studio may have butchered Fantastic Four, but his original concept was Fantastic Four in name only), may have been the right choice x2, and definitely the right choice.
This is great news. Jurassic World was one of the worst blockbusters I’d ever seen. It was just as incomprehensible as your average Transformers movie, and on top of that it was shot in the laziest, most boring way possible. Why anyone though he was good for Star Wars in the first place is beyond me.
I thought Colin Trevorrow sucked from the word “go”, Safety Not Guaranteed was a massive turd.
Agreed. I was very uneasy when they announced he’d direct. I thought this might happen, though, based on the reviews for The Book of Henry.
I doubt it was too much voice. It definitely could have been too little.
Colin “Jurassic World” Trevorrow is off the project?
This news makes me so happy. Jurassic World was innocuous, paint-by-numbers summer action fluff. Nothing about having him direct Ep. IX made me look forward to it.
Employment not guaranteed.

The cars aren’t driving on the wrong side of the road at the gas station. All four cars (including Coop’s) drive on the right of the double-yellows, which is how we do things in the US. The RR diner has always said “Tmar RR Cafe” on the sign. The motel also looks like a normal American motel circa 50s or 60s.
A few mistakes... The cars that drive by the gas station are on the correct side of the road. And the RR sign looks exactly the same as always.
I agree with you, but I do care about the mythology because of how unique it makes Twin Peaks. However, when I watched season 1 for the first time, I was surprised by how not weird it was. Yes, there was quirky stuff all over the place, but it really wasn’t like what the parodies seemed to make it.
Is there any way we could set up Disqus JUST for this thread so we could have an easy-to-follow conversation about this crazy thing we witnessed last night? Please? PLEAAAAASE?
These last two episodes made me realize I don’t really give a shit about the mythology. The reason season 1 and parts of season 2 and FWWM worked so well was the emotional resonance and because you cared about the characters.
Season 3 has a bit of that, but mostly it focuses on the mythology way too much. It being a…
Because he wasn’t the real Cooper, at least not completely. His detachment during the sex scene and his cold demeanor in the diner seemed much more characteristic of Mr. C as if the two had merged in some way.
Based on her hiding of ‘Coopers’ stern face and subsequent departure at not recognising him, I feel that this ‘430' world he inhabits is mirrors and possibly precedes what we have seen in the rest of the season. Richard is both evil dale and good dale, he does bad and good. We get essences of both characters in his…
The running theory is this: Laura, the Golden Orb, was sent by the Lodge Spirits to defeat Judy, the Mother, the Experiment. Bob tried to kill or possess Laura to stop her, through Leland. Judy possessed Sarah.
Nah, Mario's arch nemesis is a fucking turtle. Nothing can beat that.
