One of my best friends is from Pereira, Colombia and moved to New Jersey when he joined the navy. That’s where he learned English. Said it took him a good few years getting made fun of in the navy to shed the NJ accent in English.

Yeah, important to note this, she played as big a role as he did in all his early success.  I found I really connected to him with his his curation and passion for film in general, he was really great at relating why you should see certain movies, and what was great about them.
