You can do a Total War in almost any period in European history right up till WW1 because all those inbred interconnected noble families just would not stop charging their subjects into hails of gunfire/arrows.

I think Shogun 2 is the most perfect iteration of the series.  I’ve dipped a toe in 3K and it just seems like a LOT from a series that already is.

It could be argued all 3 main actors are the “Sexy Beast” of the title.  Just of different flavors.
