Re: the Kathleen Wisniewski story:

In the days of my youth, riding the M-train home at 3AM still enjoying a good buzz after closing out the bar with friends. Homeless guy wearing sweat pants has a seat near the door in the middle of the car. While between stations, he reaches into his sweats and pulls out a few sheets of newspaper he had apparently

Scalp reduction surgery. A procedure that has since been discredited and is no longer performed. It would have thrown off the natural growth patterns of his hair.

For the restaurants’ part, I think they are mostly trying to avoid the type problems they encounter when they add a mandatory tip onto the checks of parties of X or more, and then the customer tips on top of that. And then the customer comes back the next day and claims they’ve been cheated.

There’s another factor. We’ve essentially lost the extended family structure. People move all over the country pursuing their careers and passions. But, that means they leave parents, grandparents, etc. far away. Where in the past, grandma would watch the kids while the parents went off to work, now we have to pay

Just because the department gave him a form to fill out does not transfer a responsibility onto a citizen to produce ID.

I’m pretty Libertarian leaning, yet I can see the sense in this. Regulations should exist where the individual can not be expected to be able to police their own safety. For example, I can’t personally go inspect the conditions at every food plant that manufacturers and packages the food I eat.

My wife is an RN. A few years back, she had a patient who was in his early 50’s, but had the IQ of a three year old. He was the sweetest guy, just an adult sized child really. He had been admitted because his elderly mother was seriously ill and in the ICU. The doctors and nurses had conspired to get him admitted to

Let’s enumerate your errors, shall we?

bullshit on all counts.

Being forced to choose is a lie we have been sold by the two party system. The second biggest lie is “don’t vote for a third party candidate. You are throwing your vote away.”

If I don’t like either candidate, I don’t vote for either candidate. I refuse to vote for the “lesser of two evils”. If they both suck, neither one gets my vote. I will not validate the election of one to spite the other. And I will bitch and complain about whichever loser wins as much as I want to.

I would be very much in favor of having ONLINE voting, if there was a way to make it 100% secure. It would probably have to be linked with the new smart ID cards that Homeland Security wants everyone to have. That way the ID card would work as your online password.

They may be using the fact that you are recording AUDIO to defend their actions. Massachusset is a Two-Party Consent state for recording conversations. You have to be part of the conversation, not an observer, and have the consent of everyone involved in the conversation to record audio.

Interestingly, when Fox Boston ran this story, they chose to blur out the man’s face, “as no charges have been filed against him.” You don’t have to do that, Fox. He doesn’t have a reasonable expectation of privacy either. That’s how this works. Sir.

So what’s the problem here exactly?

The US has had a “silent” aristocracy since the Industrial Revolution when men like Carnegie and Rockefeller could begin to weild real influence. Old money is smart enough to stay to the shadows. New money is loud and public about their support.
