I saw it at the Berlin Festival this year and I actually found it quite moving. I would say it revolved around the struggle of being an empathetic individual in an uncaring society, which is something that resonated with me quite a bit and I don't think the review highlighted that enough…
But even A Beautiful Mind has the "exceptional mad genius" trope. Sorry I wrote my MA thesis on the topic and am currently making a documentary about my schizophrenic friend, so im super duper critical.
I understand your point, the media in general is incredibly awful when it comes to mental distress issues. Im still waiting for that intelligent, empathetic film though….
I have a real issue with how the film equates schizophrenia with a complete detachment from the world and complete incoherence. 1% of the population has schizophrenia yet there are basically no films that show schizophrenics as multifaceted people that arent just walking symptoms.

Am I the only one who was sad to see Fäde go? There was something very appealing and down-to-earth about him (and his designs).
I added cis because of Monica and Sonique (Sonique came out as trans at the reunion show). I don't think Rupaul's Drag Race needs this element, but it would partially change the dynamic which could prove to be interesting.
What I'm wondering is…when will there be a straight cis-male contestant?
