What if God was one of us?
What if God was one of us?
Hopefully not, I had some lovely carrot curry soup for dinner and I’d hate to think they retained sentience when puréed with their fellows.
I just saw a large segment about this with Auntie Rachel, and it is truly a trip to Crazytown. Apparently, part of the problem is that the lawyers Cheeto Hitler was able to hire are not Washington constitutional scholars, since all of the big DC firms bounced him when his people came sniffing around looking for…
Could the trump disappear?
Fam, I don’t dispute this is nuts, but keep in mind that EVEN IF he could pardon himself for federal crimes, he almost surely cannot pardon himself for state crime offenses. Let’s hope NY AG Schneiderman is as hard at work as many suspect he is...
I love to hate watch this movie, mainly for the costumes, it does suck massively and the script is shite!
Roberts might not because he seems wary of the legacy those kind of decisions will leave on his tenure as CJ.
Do they need another one? I wouldn’t be surprised if Gorsuch, Alito, Thomas, and Roberts would all vote down Roe v. Wade, although I don’t follow the court closely enough to be sure.
If any Texan needs assistance, I am happy to cover the costs to travel out of your backwards ass state and get your constitutionally protected, legal abortion elsewhere. I am so sick of this shit. I donate to Planned Parenthood monthly, but I’m willing to send funds directly to someone desperate and in need. Hit me up.
Of course, they also increased the rate of abortions by defunding Planned Parenthood. The legislature has realized that they can make life impossible for abortion providers by passing a constant stream of laws, even if they all eventually end up being declared unconstitutional (and if Donald gets to replace Anthony…
Wow, just looking at the cast and the summary, that *does* look terrible.
Oh, I definitely agree, they both seem awful, and the UK is better off for them having fucked off.
Yeah well, at least he didn’t collude with the Russians.
Oh, okay. I guess I need to rewatch The King’s Speech, because I don’t remember him being particularly sympathetic. And he definitely wasn’t romanticized in The Crown, where he is depicted as vain, petty, and incurably selfish, and Wallis even more so. It’s true the Nazi bits were left out, but that seems fine to me…
Haven’t seen the King’s Speech — does the film’s version of him spout virulent racism, antisemitism, hatred of the poor and working people, and advocate the use of poison gas against civilians? Probably not, if it doesn’t.
Well, meeting with Hitler in 1937 wasn’t exactly scandalous. Even British PM Neville Chamberlain met with him in 1938 before signing the Munich Pact, where France, Italy and Britain kinda just handed over Czechoslovakia to the Germans in the name of “peace”(with especially Chamberlain thinking this was a great idea).
Still to be revealed to most Americans: Wall Street supported, financed, and supplied the Nazis from the start, offering the Third Reich credit, but demanding payment in full from the Allies.
Overwrought with shame, Edward VIII spent the rest of his life commiserating with similarly situated, disgraced Nazi sympathizers, including Henry Ford, Walt Disney, and Charles Lindbergh. None were ever forgiven.
Churchill was a total arsehole, so this does not surprise me.
