Post on July 5, 2012: Google closes prizes service as it isn't a "core activity".

For me, the biggest concern is that everyone I'm friends with seems to be shared with everyone else. If I add someone to a "circle", everyone in all my other circles can see who I've added. They can't see the circle that person is in, but I don't feel the need to share my list of friends with all the friends of other

Indeed - I remember "writing" circuits with a Radio Shack pen back in 1989 — I'm guessing there is something special about this pen, but I'd like to know what it is.

Total BS of course — these companies know that iPad users are the only ones worth marketing to. Why would I buy an iOS enabled blood pressure monitor, when I can get a regular one with USB interface and software for 1/3 of the price of this thing? Not everything in life has to be powered by my iOS device. With this,

They will eventually, but the Sensation 4G has not (yet) been rooted.

One can only hope.

Ah, what a high quality comment. Why not add in a couple of remarks about blacks and gays if you want the troll of the week award?

Streaming sucks because it relies on a connection you have no influence over. Shoddy wi-fi, planes with no connectivity or foreign locations with $20/day wireless. I prefer to be in control of my content, and not rely on a third party to grant me access.

I don't like to sync — I'm on the road a lot, and just copy all the new movies I have to my device. Sure, I could load two movies and sync daily, but I'm lazy.

If it is anything like the other Archos tablets, the HDD is seen as one of the external storage locations. It'll have flash for the OS and apps, external storage on HDD and perhaps another external storage location for an SD card slot.

I do — now my tablet can play HD movies, I'd love to be able to carry 20 or 30 of them on my device, instead of the current limits imposed by flash memory. Add 2000 songs, and some backups of files, and a 250GB drive isn't that bad an idea.

How is this a bad idea? They've had HDD's in their tablets for years now, and it has never been a problem. And what makes you think the HDD will *always* be spinning? In my previous Archos, it would only spin up when I accessed something off it.

The "it" thing to say? I'm a T-Mobile customer, I also have a corporate AT&T phone — I feel I'm perfectly justified to comment on the situation.

A point? Have you ever heard of AT&T and how shitty they are? I'm a T-Mobile customer, but I'll be leaving the new T-AT&T the day the merger is finalized. There is no way in hell I'll stay with an operator that essentially sold its network just for the cash, tells people up front that their phones will no longer work

Other companies had been using "app store" long before Apple, so with your logic, Apple is the one that should have been more creative.

You don't make 40 million off your site by being a nice guy. Arrington is where he is today because he's an asshole — but he's an asshole with millions. Blackmail is a bit rich for this — the foundation of the article is something Gawker excels in; bait. He's in the business of delivering hits, just like every other

"the agency would begin considering a proposal to "explore new ways to empower consumers and protect Americans against cramming and mystery fees

100% spot on. Government is no longer there for the consumers, it is there so companies like AT&T, Comcast and anyone else that doesn't give a shit can do whatever they want.

Daaaamn. Every time someone tells me how unsafe the cloud is, I laugh.

Concorde was built off 1960's technology — build something off current day tech and the economics are different.
