I’ve been able to do this so long on Android that I can’t remember when I first could do it. Almost a decade ago? I definitely had a custom launcher, transparent widgets, and icon selection on my LG Ally, if that places the timeframe anywhere. 

Shouldn’t this article be about how iOS users can make their iPhone look like an Android? Maybe it is just me but this article comes across like “oh look at what iPhone can do, and Android can imitate it” as if Android couldn’t do this all along.

Yea, the target market for this thing is definitely enthusiasts that want to row their own. I bet if it had a manual we’d see these at the track all the time.
