The episode opens with a flashback to Saskatchewan six years ago with Morgan Edge chasing down something that fell from the sky. “

I think it’s common knowledge in Smallville that Clark was adopted by the Kents. So an ancestry project would probably focus on Jonathan and Martha’s ancestors.

2. Sarah was a cheerleader so she was at every game.

1. & 6. I’ve just finished a whole comment on this, but yes, agreed.

Killgrave is speechifying to hear himself talk; villains do that. His spiel is also for the audience’s benefit. Superman's ears were glowing; that strongly suggests he couldn't hear.

I’ll always remember the 80's Byrne revamp, where Clark was actually raised as just a normal guy hiding his powers growing up, but then when the time came where he had to establish Superman, he split himself up into separate, almost cartoony personalities.

Clark putting on his glasses is the superhero equivalent of closing the door to your home office when you’re done for the day.

I think I remember “overstuffed” being used a lot in Supergirl reviews.

I picked up on that too. I guess they’re just part of “being Clark,” i.e., “When I’m plain old Clark, I wear my glasses.” It’s a bit odd when you think about it because in recent incarnations of Superman, Clark is the real guy and Superman is the disguise but in reality both are disguises.

Yeah, but movie/tv rain has always been different in that special hoses and piping is used to give it those big drops that show up on camera. As opposed to real rain which you could catch sometimes on the X-files when they kept rolling during a real rainstorm. Also shot around Vancouver BTW.

I love that Clark keeps his glasses on for date night.

I don’t think that’s what she was saying, I think she was upset because her husband didn’t notice or care that she was uncomfortable. Her husband is the one who assumed that meant she wanted him to jump in and defend her but most likely she just wanted him to empathize with her instead of immediately defending Edge.

Lana’s husband can be an ass, but like him I was confused by her reaction after dinner. You can’t expect your partner to swoop in and save you from every mildly uncomfortable conversation.

Man did I ever have Smallville flashbacks seeing X-Kryptonite come into play.  Freak of the week here we come!

I really hope they avoid it as well. Too much MOTW is tedious enough, but the “all local powers have the same source” thing just kills any interest for me. As mediocre as Edge is right now as a villain, I hope they are leaning more to him having a cohesive master plan and building a private army instead of half the

I felt like this was a Smallville episode but I still have enjoyed this show a lot so far.

Now I feel stupid. I didn’t think about that. Thanks. Now I know why he didn’t feign an accent and order the guards to set him free.

I definitely feel like we’re going the Smallville 2.0 route with the equivalent of “meteor freaks.”

Jessica Jones was Marvel. Superman is DC. Different characters.

I know it’s what’s making him happy, but the scenes of Jordan playing football made me think of how it’s going to be such a scandal, when they have to forfeit their wins because they are letting a supe play and how it’s unfair to the kids on the other team.
