Hurr durr. Your average guy in a garage can barely program his nest thermostat let alone write a computer algorithm dude lol. All that money and they still haven’t gotten it right. First one that does will be a trillion dollar company.

What are your thoughts on professional athletes? Writers? Actors? TV talent?
These aren’t run of the mill engineers, these are individuals with PhDs that ran DARPA challenge teams before the tech really existed. Companies are basically investing in an entire platform. Nowadays any engineer looking to get into this field won’t be any where close to being worth that much.
So, maybe some clarification? A high ranking engineering MANAGER might pull that in, but us peon engineers who actually do the work? Right...
The fact that we’re actually having (and apparently, are somehow losing) a debate about whether all children deserve healthcare is a sign how completely broken a society we are.
Can someone explain to me why this is bad? (I’m not from USA, and I don’t understand why “Health Care for all Children” is bad?)
Yes it does. Though, much like the issue surrounding the existence of a back door to remove encryption on a device, once such a feature is available to those with good intentions, it will be available for all, including those with bad intentions.
Then ban phones altogether at concerts, and have metal detectors at the door confiscating them.
Does that help?
I’m with ya. I hate it too, but technology is a double-edged sword. If well-meaning people can block your ability to record, so can people with an agenda or something to hade (corrupt police, government, etc).
So, if your local police department got the same sort of infrared emitter to prevent you from recording police activity, you’re cool with that, too?
I’ve often thought this would be a good idea in movie theaters and automobiles to prevent texting.
4) Police can prevent civilian recording. Never.
Infrared? Really? A piece of tape is all it will take to circumvent this bit of wizardry.
I’ve had iPhones since 2010, and this would be a fantastic way to get me to buy an Android phone.
