VANOS issues and repairs are blown way out of proportion. If you start hearing the dreaded ticking from the VANOS, you can send the units to Dr. VANOS for a rebuild which will only set you back around $2K or less if you can pull them from your car without a mechanic.

I’m glad that they do. I much prefer swapping some rechargeable batteries than having to dock and charge a controller.

ORRRRR

(a little too) ambitious predictions for 2021:

We say that, but it’s not reality. You can get a Jeep Wrangler for under $30k. Jeep makes dozens of them a year and struggles to sell the Sports.

You have an E46 Jeep Cherokee?

So, it is illegal to have aftermarket exhaust, tinted windows, euro headlights, etc. (Varies depending on jurisdiction). Yet, this trend of ever bugger truck / SUV is fine?

“That’s beautiful, especially the rear!” - Chris Bangle.

It’s about $30K more, it’s called the “M5" package.

So was the goal make an ugly car more ugly, because they certainly succeeded.

That is definitely true. In many cases its not just the mileage, its the age. Just got rid of my wifes 2003 Liberty. Car was in great shape, and only had 140k on the clock. I can say though from doing most of my own maintenance on it that most of the plastic interconnects under the hood had become brittle and removing

When I was a college student, I bought a surplus army M-151 MUTT from a surplus yard, towed it home and spent months getting it together. The most exciting memory is the day we got the engine running for the first time. Based on maintenance records still in the engine compartment, it had not been operated in at least

Joking aside, after owning multiple BMWs, nothing makes me jump in fear more than the error chime. Worse thing is that BMWs have a “Outside temp below 37F” warning that triggers the same sound and gives me a heart attack every winter morning.

There’s a very good reason why the Rolls didn’t have the door indicator - your man opened and closed the door for you. Closing your own door? What are you, a peasant?

A BMW is never completely fixed. Once you finish fixing all you problems, new ones will pop up. Sometimes the first thing you fixed will re-break. I’m looking at you leaky PS lines.

can we please get rid of G meters. its the most useless tech out there.

Or...she’s a part of my life, we are both stuck at home 24/7 because of the pandemic and her reaction and concern were memorable and I wanted to paint a full picture.

Ugh, it’s insane. Like when my Dad says “Why don’t you buy a house?! Our first home in Toledo was $45,000!”

He should have just complied.

That is correct, weirdly! He had the dealership papers of work done to prove it, too. Of course, since I was new to the whole turbo thing at the time it never occurred to me that the dealership basically screwed him big time and had planned on screwing him some more. I can see why he sold it to me for just $600.
