Best thing would probably be stay home.
yeah, you hit the nail on the head here. When you look at the actual facts of the situation, it seems like the letter writer is still fantasizing about having had more control than they actually did.
āIām sure some people will find this advice too strident, or object that she is a grown woman who has entered freely into a post-relationship friendship with you and it would be infantilizing to assume you or I know what is best for her. I donāt care. There are certain relationships in which one person holds so muchā¦
Okay, when I read this letter, my first reaction was: wow, this person is making several bad (unjustified) inferences. The relationship he describes reminds me of one I was in and, similarly, if you ask my ex his side of the story, he too would be taking lots of credit for why my life is the way it is. In reality, Iā¦
Because Lucas - the additional 1.5 watt load on the electrical system would probably cause the car to burst into flames.
āThey know exactly what works and what donāt work out in the dessert.ā
....so, fudge topping and sprinkles, but hold the maraschino cherry?
You are the one making the OS jump here. Apple owns the OS and the App Store, but this is an App Store policy, not an iOS policy. So its not a false equivalency. If Epic Store was available as an app on the Windows App Store and broke the rules, then MS would have every right to remove it as well.
The lawsuit didnāt truly āfollowā; if you look at the Complaint (which is 62 pages), itās patently clear it was written before Fortnite was kicked off the app store. It couldnāt have been done in the time since. They wrote the lawsuit, then knowingly violated the terms to induce Apple to enforce the terms so theyā¦
I havenāt owned an iPhone since the 5S, but from a quick Google search thereās:
It seems theyĀ have already filed a lawsuit. This was clearly a set-up to force the issue. They knew exactly what Apple would do and had legal papers ready to go.
Sorry, I just addressed that in my edit. The App Store absolutely isnāt the only way to legally install software, there are half a dozen different third-party app stores and even a few that donāt require breaking the TOS at all.
Update, 3:37pmāEpic tweets that it has āfiled legal papers in response to Apple.ā
If you want to sell your apps on the Windows Store, Microsoft absolutely takes a cut and has restrictions on things like payment methods.
While I donāt know if the market would agree that 30% is the going rate, the statement that Apple has done nothing for them at all is patently false.
You are wrong Aka. On all counts.
Maybe not safety in terms of Epic, but safety in terms of any random developer putting direct purchases in their apps and funnels those charges through shady eastern European merchants with no accountability. There canāt be two sets of rules, one for ātrustworthyā devs and one for āuntrustworthyā devs so to speak. Weā¦
Itās easy to hate on Appleās walled garden but I honestly donāt see any problem with this
This was a dick move for Epic. They would be similarly pissed if someone launched on Epic Store and bypassed their in-game purchase options.
In before all the Tesla fanboys come and tell you how you are dumb, wrong, that windshield wiper controls in a touch screen are actually the best way to handle controlling them (because reasons), people who canāt figure it out are dumb, and you should bow before your new lord Elon Musk
