Surely it’s worth noting that Wii U to Switch is a entirely different platform - completely new chipset and codebase. Ipod 1 to 2 (or 3 ore 4) is carrying forward the same platform. I don’t get this at all. It’s like saying “Don’t buy that record. It won’t play on your CD player!”. Wii U is one platform, switch will be another platform. Your copy of Pikmin 3 won’t play on it, and you might have spent $60 on that.

By that metric won’t the Switch fail in exactly the same way? The screen is a mandatory part of the package again and won’t allow for a $100 drop either.
