Galaxy 2 did open things up considerably (despite it's banishment of the somewhat non-linear hubs of 64 through Galaxy 1). It's probably the best mario game of the last 10 years and definitely worth a visit if you have a wii or wii u.

That's true, but they just put out TWO mario "platforming-centric" games last year. I was really hoping they'd switch it up for the "main" console entry, but this looks like it will be a fairly similar experience to the NSMB games.

They showed that you have 5 or 6 different controller options - and white pro controllers can be had for $25 if you look for them.

I have no doubt this is going to be fun but I can't help feeling disappointed with the stages. I was just watching someone play Sunshine on twitch and those stages were just... wildly imaginative. They feel like huge playgrounds with secrets to discover, and revisiting the stages flips your understanding of how to

I wish ever so much for Level-5 to start doing this. Still waiting for a 3DS game from them, and the 3DS is going to be 3 years old.

There are indeed some audio issue.

In fact the game entirely disables stereoscopic 3D in all instances except battle scenes. The developer recently explained that they wanted the towns / fields etc. to use all of the 3DS's power to render the backgrounds and doing this in 2D is much more efficient b/c it renders half the horizontal resolution (400

I didn't get very far, story-wise, but I can tell you that the time between starting the game and actually going out in the world, battling other fellow trainers, was minimal. Hypothetically it could take you just a couple of minutes, but I suspect that it'll take longer than that anyway. I found myself examining

THATS WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT!

This reminded me more of Proteus. The woodsman does look like a character from wind waker, I'll give you that!

I'm personally not worried because I would never use it for a game like this. I think M$ should be downplaying the "motion gaming" part of it and hone in on the video chat, utility stuff. But perhaps at that point people will feel cheated knowing they paid an extra $100 for features that could be approximated with a

That's fair, but as an experience designer you should have some idea what it takes to get a project of this scope in any kind of usable state. Frankly it's a miracle that there is (seemingly) one bug - and it's certainly not a game breaking one. But I'm sure you have a list of issues - and that would be

Thank you for doing this front-wise! Big improvement.

You feel screwed by Rockstar after playing GTA5? Might want to temper those expectations next time!

Miyamoto likes it. Seems like he knows games.

nailed it.

And Valve has years of experience perfecting that model with Team Fortress. Can the same be said of Capcom?

This will be really interesting to follow. If it's received well, that could indicate that this whole generation of shooters has largely been rejected solely due to aesthetics.

Complete with cargo pants!

Must be a good time to have a WiiU with 4/12 bests releasing within 2 or 3 weeks of eachother — Pikmin, Zelda, W101, and Rayman. Bit Trip Runner seems like a bit of a stretch though. I guess 3D World or Tropical Freeze will take its place soon. Monster Hunter would seem to be an obvious choice too.
