Yes, I have. For me, they were very good. I don't expect unanimous consent, however. But for me, the show peaked at 5, then has been slowly going down a hill ever since. This season in particular has been very meh.
Individual episodes can still be strong, but there is a lack of continuity of both character and story that makes the show play decidedly lesser for me. And even at the individual episode level, things only reach good rather than great, and then only occasionally. But YMMV.
Seems like most of seasons 1-5 were fully excellent (sure, the odd clunker, but whatev), and even 6 was mostly excellent (with a bit more clunker, but not too awful bad). But everything since has been just fine, but rarely superlative. The Clara-Dr relationship was pretty great once Capaldi came on board, but…
Getting tired of Cloverfield ripping off my life's history.
This episode was just fine, like most of the episodes this season. I'd kind of like Doctor Who to go back to being better than just fine.
Just saying that best first season every is a high bar to clear. Did you ever watch the first season of Cop Mom? She's a cop AND a mom!
Better than the first season of Harry's Law?
I bailed after Pearl Harbor
Yup. It's still my favorite movie of his. And much like Split, you don't really know that it's a superhero movie until late in the game. It's also the best job anyone has ever done at tackling an origin story. Considering how few comic book movies had been made back then, it's shame that Unbreakable didn't end up…
Agreed.
Ok, but not an uncommon sentiment among directors.
I've never checked out anything other than HarmonQuest, but I fucking loved HarmonQuest.
They worked on hiding the cleavage while shooting, but Lillard's moobs were awesome back then and impossible to hide completely.
Considering how many awful fucking movies get made, and how many directors of bombs continue to work, it's one of the life's great mysteries that John Carpenter has made exactly ONE MOVIE since turning 52. FIFTY-TWO. Or you could go with only two movies since turning 50.
To be fair, his moobs are awesome. Also hairy.
